Fire Island National Seashore Travel Poster

Fire Island National Seashore Travel Poster

from 2.00

For decades, the first evidence of land for travelers crossing the vast Atlantic Ocean from Europe was the Fire Island Lighthouse. Completed in 1858 near the site of its 1826 predecessor, the current Fire Island Light is still a beacon attracting thousands of people each year. With a focal plane of 168 feet above the level of the sea, can be seen more than 20 miles away.

This Fire Island National Seashore print is a unique tribute to the WPA posters that were created in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The WPA posters were originally constructed as a government initiative to generate interest in the national parks and improve park attendance. As we are approaching the centennial anniversary of the National Parks System, we have designed WPA travel posters and postcards featuring all 59 national parks to celebrate America’s diverse homeland and to encourage you to reflect on the rich history and beauty that each national park has to offer. We hope to inspire you to find your park and travel to the stunning landscapes which make America so great.

  •  Our posters are printed on beautiful Archival Professional Matte Paper. A true non-reflective matte with warm whites and a super smooth finish. It’s unique lusterless surface provides elegant color reproduction with subtlety and warmth.
